The students of this class are familiar with the term price but may
not have an economic meaning for it.
The entire class is encountering the content for the first time.
All of the students can use the computer to surf the internet and
create presentations eg power point presentations.

Students should be able to:
1. Accurately define the term price by including at least three of
the following terms; value, demand, supply,
2. State two pricing
objectives and give reasons why businesses use these objectives.
3. Explain pricing strategies such as cost plus pricing, penetration
pricing, predatory pricing, limit pricing, market driven pricing, value based
pricing, psychological pricing.
4. Identify pricing strategies
used on various products in the community and suggest reasons for these
strategies.
5. Suggest one alternative pricing strategy for the product at 3
above and give reasons for this choice.
6. Suggest the pricing
strategy for a new product and give reasons for that choice. All
presentations will be evaluated at the end of each presentation.

(ii)overhead projector
(iii) digital camera
All equipment are located in the learning resource center which must
be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
|
1. the teacher will find and bookmark the sites on the computer for
the students to access .
2. students will be given an
overview of the topic before they access the internet.
3. the teacher will set up interview schedules with marketing
personnel of SuperJ and Valmont.
4. Teacher will design a new product and give it a name, brand and
label. this product will be shown to students for them to price it and give
the strategy used.

1.use the computer to access

2.Brainstorm and suggest various pricing objectives. These will be
shared with the rest of the class via a power point presentation various
groups of students will examine the various pricing strategies by researching
on the internet and share the findings through bookmarks to various sites and
classroom presentations of powerpoint
or video created.
3.visit business places using skype and interview the marketing
personnel on the strategy used for various products – strategy and reasons.
4.select a product and describe an alternative pricing strategy.
5.Examine prices of the telephone providers and
interpret/suggest the strategy used.
